With over 25 years of hands-on experience in access and privacy across all levels of government, Nicole brings the practical expertise that sets CPAT apart. Having processed thousands of access requests and managed one of Ontario’s largest Freedom of Information units, she understands the real challenges FOI professionals face. Her experience working with organizations such as police services, government agencies, and universities allows her to deliver training that goes beyond theory – providing the practical skills, tools, and strategies professionals need to handle complex requests and appeals, navigate privacy issues and remain compliant.
With over 15 years of experience in access to information and privacy — including 12 years as Director and Director General of ATIP at the Canada Revenue Agency — Marie-Claude has led major initiatives spanning legislative reform, privacy governance, and ATIP training development at the highest levels of government. Recipient of the Information Commissioner of Canada's Recognition Award in 2018, she has since worked as an ATIP consultant and Head of Business Development and Training at AAPI, designing specialized training for federal privacy practitioners. She co-founded CPAT to bring that hands-on, real-world expertise directly to privacy and access to information professionals across Canada.
